The island of Serifos is one of the most attractive islands in the Aegean Sea region. Serifos villages, many of which are located on scenic bays and on impressive hillsides, are extremely beautiful. The island is well catered for tourism, and there are several popular destinations on the island that are well worth visiting. The locals have lived off iron and copper mining since ancient years, together with fishing and some farming, mainly figs and olives.

Ferries call at Livadi , the sheltered port on the eastern side of the island, where there is a long horseshoe-shaped sandy beach. While Chora is the traditional village, Livadi is the place where tourists have all the facilities they need – hotels, restaurants, bars and taverns. The port is visited frequently by cruise boats and yachts that connect the island to its surrounding neighbors.

The beach Livadaki is great for families for children, and there are also a couple of taverns there. The island’s most popular beaches are located in the south eastern part of Serifos – Livadi, Livadakia and Avlomonas Beach. Moving south you’ll discover the beautiful Karavi beach (with azure waters) and Kalo Ambeli beach. The northern coastline holds the beaches of Lia, Psili Ammos and Agios Ioannis. Serifos beaches are considered to be some of the best beaches in Greece. Some have golden sand, while others are small rocky coves.

Megalo Livadi has a stunning beach, which is lined with tamarisk trees and has shallow waters, making it ideal for families with young children.
